Terms of Service for Impact Reel

Effective date: October 22, 2026
App: Impact Reel for iPhone (the "app")
Developer: Cowboy Capital LLC ("we", "us")
Contact: austin@cowboycapital.net

In short

  • Impact Reel is a video tool for golfers. It finds swings in videos you choose, cuts clips, lets you mark up video, and saves the results to your Photos library on your iPhone.
  • Use it at your own risk, and stay safe at the range. The app's lines, rings, tracers and detection are visual aids and estimates, not coaching, measurements or guarantees.
  • You keep your videos. We do not collect them (see the Privacy Policy). Apple's standard license for App Store apps also applies.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

These terms are between you and Cowboy Capital LLC ("we", "us"), the maker of Impact Reel for iPhone (the "app"). By downloading or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app. Contact: austin@cowboycapital.net.

2. Apple's license and these terms

The app is licensed to you, not sold. Your use is also governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA in the App Store), and these terms add to it. If the two conflict on something Apple's agreement covers, Apple's agreement wins. Apple is not responsible for the app, its support or any claim about it; we are. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of Apple's license terms and may enforce them against you.

3. What the app does

  • Swing clips. The app listens to the sound in videos you pick, finds the impact of each swing, checks for movement around it, and cuts a clip around each one. You review the clips, choose lengths and slow motion, and save them to a Photos album.
  • Player and notes. A full-screen player, a library of your saved swings with notes and stars, and a highlight for swings whose strike sound stands out from your others.
  • Markup. Lines, rings and other drawings placed on a video by you or placed automatically from the golfer's pose and the club shaft (detected on your device); a shot tracer you mark by hand; zoom; and exports that save a new clip with the drawings in it. The original clip can also be kept.
  • Swing Sequence and sharing. From the full-screen player you can turn one swing into twelve pictures cut from your video and save them to your Photos library as photos or as one square image, and you can send a clip through the standard iOS share sheet.
  • Range mode (a future version). A later version may add a live mode that uses the camera and microphone to watch your swing, find each impact and show a replay with markup. It would keep video and sound only briefly in temporary files on your iPhone and save only what you choose to save; we will update these terms when it ships.
  • Everything is on your iPhone. The app does not need an account and does not send your videos, sound or clips anywhere.

4. Estimates, not measurements or advice

  • Swing detection, the club shaft, body and ball finding, tracers, strike ratings and every line the app draws automatically are approximate and can be wrong. You can move or delete anything the app places.
  • The app does not measure ball speed, distance, club speed, face angle or any other launch data, and nothing it shows should be treated as a measurement.
  • The app is not a golf instructor and does not give coaching, medical or safety advice. Talk to a qualified instructor about your swing and a doctor about any physical concern.

5. Staying safe, and respecting other people

  • Golf and driving ranges carry real risk. Watch your surroundings, follow the range's rules and keep your attention on your swing, not on your phone. Do not use the app while swinging a club, and set up your phone where it cannot be hit.
  • Do not film people who have not agreed to it where the law or the venue's rules require their agreement, and do not share clips of others without their permission.
  • The app uses the camera and the microphone only when you tap Record a session, to film and record your own range session on your iPhone; the whole recording is saved to your Photos. You are responsible for filming only where filming is allowed (a range or course that permits it) and for the people in your recordings. You can turn either off in iPhone Settings. If a future version adds Range mode, their use will be limited to what is described above and in the privacy policy.

6. Your videos and clips

Your videos and the clips and markups made from them are yours. We do not collect, view or store them, and we do not claim any right in them. You are responsible for having the right to use, edit and share any video you load into the app. If you post or send a clip or a picture, that is your choice and is governed by the service you use. Clips and Swing Sequence pictures saved to Photos are ordinary videos and photos under your control and are not deleted when you delete the app.

7. Acceptable use

Do not use the app to break the law, to infringe anyone's rights, to film or share people unlawfully, to copy, reverse engineer or resell the app, to remove its notices, or to try to interfere with its operation. We may update the app and change or remove features.

8. Purchases

The app is distributed through the App Store. It is sold as a one-time purchase, handled entirely by Apple. Prices, payment, taxes, receipts and refunds are governed by Apple's terms; we do not receive your payment details. Features and pricing may change over time; your purchase gives you the app as it is described at the time, and does not entitle you to any feature we have not released.

9. Our rights

The app, its code, design, name, logo and documentation belong to Cowboy Capital LLC and are protected by law. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as the App Store rules allow. "Impact Reel" and our logo may not be used without our written permission. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.

10. No warranty

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not promise that the app will always work, be error-free, or find every swing or never mark a non-swing. If the app fails to meet a warranty that cannot be excluded, Apple may refund the purchase price, and, to the extent the law allows, has no other warranty duty to you.

11. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost clips, lost profits, injury at a range, or anything that results from relying on what the app shows. Our total liability to you for any claim about the app is limited to the amount you paid for it, or fifty US dollars if you paid nothing. Some places do not allow some of these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

12. Ending

You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it. We may end your license if you break these terms. Sections that by their nature should continue (rights, warranty, liability, law) will continue after that.

13. Changes

We may change these terms, for example when the app gains features. When we do, we will change the date above and describe material changes in the App Store release notes. Using the app after a change means you accept it. The latest version is always at https://cowboycapital.net/legal/impact-reel-terms/.

14. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts there have jurisdiction, except where the law of your place of residence gives you rights that cannot be waived. Before starting a formal claim, please email us at austin@cowboycapital.net and give us 30 days to try to resolve it.
